Pride brunch is all about celebrating love, acceptance, and of course, delicious food and drinks! And what better way to toast to these values than with a vibrant, colorful rainbow sangria? This recipe is easy to make, visually stunning and packs a fruity punch that's perfect for a warm summer morning.
As someone who loves a good glass of wine and getting a little fruity, I'm always looking for ways to add a splash of fun to my day. This rainbow sangria is not only delicious but serves as a beautiful, festive centerpiece for your Pride celebration.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1 bottle (750 ml) of dry white wine (like sauvignon blanc or pinot grigio)
1/2 cup of brandy
1/4 cup of triple sec or orange liqueur
1 cup of strawberries, hulled and sliced (red)
1 cup of mandarin oranges, peeled and segmented (orange)
1 cup of pineapple chunks (yellow)
1 cup of kiwi, peeled and sliced (green)
1 cup of blueberries (blue)
1 cup of blackberries (purple)
1 liter of sparkling water or club soda
Optional: Sugar or simple syrup to taste
Let's get started:
Prep the Fruit: Wash and prepare all your fruit according to the list above. The key to a beautiful rainbow effect is to keep the fruits separated by color.
Combine the Ingredients: In a large pitcher, combine the white wine, brandy, and triple sec. Stir well to combine.
Add the Fruit: Gently add your prepared fruit to the pitcher, layering them by color as best as possible. This will create that stunning rainbow effect we're going for! Start with the red strawberries at the bottom, followed by the orange mandarin oranges, yellow pineapple, green kiwi, blue blueberries, and finally, top it off with the purple blackberries.
Chill and Infuse: Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight. This allows the fruit to infuse the wine with its vibrant flavors.
Final Touches: Just before serving, top off the sangria with the sparkling water or club soda. Give it a gentle stir to combine.
Taste and Adjust: Give the sangria a taste. (Just a taste! You're just getting started.) If it’s not sweet enough for your liking, add a little sugar or simple syrup to taste.
Serve and Enjoy: Pour the Rainbow Sangria into glasses filled with ice. Garnish with a few extra pieces of fruit for a beautiful presentation.
