I've got something to smear all over your face... again. Ready for it?
With the summer sun in SoCal cooking our skin, we're sweating a lot more and producing more, you know, face gunk. And if there's one thing our plastic faces in West Hollywood need it's some cleansing.
I had the opportunity to try out Shani Darden Skin Care Cleansing Serum for a true Hollywood experience.
Shani Darden is the founder of the skincare line. She is a renowned celebrity esthetician with a client list that includes the likes of Chrissy Teigen and Jessica Alba. Her skincare line focuses on providing effective, science-backed products that cater to a variety of skin types and concerns.
The cleansing serum comes in a sleek, elegant bottle with a pump dispenser, making it easy to use and store. Upon first use, I was impressed by the serum's lightweight, gel-like texture. It glided smoothly onto my skin and felt refreshing, without any greasy or heavy residue.
The cleansing serum is formulated with a blend of active ingredients, including salicylic acid, lactic acid and niacinamide. What are they? I dunno. But these ingredients work together to gently exfoliate the skin, unclog pores and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The serum also contains a blend of botanical extracts, such as chamomile and aloe vera, which soothe and hydrate the skin. (And it feels great after a day in the hot sun.)
As I've written before, I have combination skin, with an oily T-zone and dry cheeks. I was initially concerned that the acids in the serum might be too harsh for my skin, but I was pleasantly surprised by how gentle and effective it was. After using the serum for a week, I noticed that my skin felt smoother and more radiant. My pores appeared smaller, and the redness around my nose and cheeks had diminished.
One of the things I appreciated most about the cleansing serum was how versatile it was. I used it both in the morning and at night, as a standalone cleanser or as a second cleanse after removing my sunscreen. It worked well with other products in my skincare routine, including my moisturizer.
