Should I confront shoeless airplane passengers?

I'm totally disgusted by people who take off their shoes on a plane -- especially when it's someone beside me. I'm tempted to say something but worry it'll lead to a confrontation. How do I get my point across without making it an issue and viral moment for people with their phones?
