Quebec City: historic charm, cobblestone streets, European flair, picturesque strolls, delicious poutine, incredible architecture -- and a great place to bounce your ass off!
I discovered iSaute Centre de Trampoline, a place I’d heard whispered about as a haven for high-flying fun, nestled just a short drive from the city’s historic core.
From the moment I stepped inside iSaute, I knew I was in for an adventure. The vibrant atmosphere was immediately palpable – a symphony of laughter, the rhythmic thud of bouncing bodies and the distant squeals of pure joy.
The facility itself is massive, cleverly designed to maximize space and offer a plethora of activities for all ages and energy levels. After a quick check-in at the front desk, where the friendly staff guided me through the waiver process and handed me the essential grip socks, I was ready to dive in. (As a media guest, I had a guide with me to show me the way.) My anticipation was practically bouncing along with the kids already in full swing.
The main arena is a sprawling landscape of interconnected trampolines, a true jumper’s paradise. I started cautiously, getting a feel for the bounce, and then, as my confidence grew, I found myself effortlessly springing higher and higher. It's an incredibly liberating feeling, defying gravity with surprising ease. But iSaute is far more than just open jumping. What truly impressed me was the sheer variety of zones, each offering a unique challenge or playful diversion -- and how tiresome each of the activities is.
One of my first stops was the Foam Pit, a classic trampoline park staple. I took a running start, launched myself into the air with a gleeful shout and landed softly into a sea of foam cubes. It was both incredibly fun and surprisingly good for practicing flips without fear of a hard landing.
Next up, I couldn't resist the allure of the Dodgeball Courts. Imagine traditional dodgeball but with the added dimension of bouncing off walls and floors. The energy was infectious as teams of strangers (and some organized groups) ducked, weaved and launched foam balls with impressive agility. (We didn't have their guests sign release forms so we were limited in showing just the staff from the facility.) I quickly joined a game, finding myself laughing and sweating in equal measure, connecting with total strangers through the universal language of competitive bouncing.
The Slam Dunk Basketball area was another highlight. With the assistance of a trampoline, even my modest vertical leap was transformed into an impressive aerial display. I found myself soaring towards the hoop, recreating the kind of dunks I usually only dream of while watching professional games.
It was an absolute blast, fueling my inner basketball star for a few exhilarating moments. For those seeking more structured challenges, the Ninja Warrior Course caught my eye. While I didn't conquer every obstacle, attempting to navigate the hanging rings, ropes and balance beams offered a fantastic test of strength and agility. It was inspiring to watch the pro staff fly through each of the obstacles.
What really struck me throughout my visit was the vibrant and inclusive atmosphere. There were families with young children taking their first tentative bounces, teenagers showcasing incredible acrobatic feats, and even other adults like myself, rediscovering the simple joy of jumping.
The staff, or "court monitors" as they're called, were constantly present, ensuring everyone adhered to the safety rules, offering tips and generally helping maintain a fun and secure environment. Their presence was reassuring, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the experience without worries.
The entire facility felt clean, well-maintained and designed with safety as a top priority, from the padded walls to the constant supervision.
I have a few tips for anyone planning a visit to iSaute Centre de Trampoline in Quebec City. Firstly, book your session online in advance, especially if you're visiting on a weekend or during peak hours. This ensures your spot and often saves time upon arrival. (Our visit was scheduled for the final hour of the night and it was still busy... on a Tuesday -- though our guide stayed with us for 30 minutes after closing.)
Secondly, wear comfortable, athletic clothing that allows for unrestricted movement. You'll be sweating! And of course, don't forget or be prepared to purchase their specialized grip socks – they are mandatory for safety and a much better grip.
Lastly, arrive a little early to allow time for waivers and changing, maximizing your jump time. Oh, and stay hydrated!
My visit to iSaute Centre de Trampoline was an absolute blast – a refreshing and incredibly fun detour from the usual tourist activities. It was a chance to reconnect with my inner child, challenge myself physically and simply enjoy the exhilarating freedom of flight. If you're looking for an unforgettable indoor adventure in Quebec City with some unique, high-energy fun, I recommend adding iSaute to your itinerary.
Believe me, you'll leave with a smile on your face and perhaps a renewed appreciation for gravity... and the joy of defying it! (And maybe some soreness the next day after forgeting how old you are and overdoing it at a place like this. Trust me!)
